Dishing Up Darwin

Dishing up Darwin is back!

Darwin’s own territory infused youth cooking competition returns this year for youth week!

Light your stove tops and sharpen your knives – Darwin’s youth-led annual cooking competition returns for its second year!

Dishing Up Darwin will be held during Youth Week over the weekend of April 21 and 22. During the competition, participants will learn more about different local cultures and cuisines, through storytelling and information sharing. Dishing Up Darwin supports and encourages young people to express their creativity in the kitchen.

The competition and organisers aim to  encourage and promote community connectedness and cultural diversity within the younger demographic of Darwin, while educating them about locally available produce.

Open to young people aged 12-25 who study, work or live in Darwin, the program aims to celebrate young people and everything we love about Darwin – the people, food, cultures and community!

This year there are two tiers to the competition – SCHOOL TEAMS or INDIVIDUALS. We will be taking up to six pairs for the school teams (middle or high school) and up to six individuals (post school aged up to 25, or school aged cooks who would prefer to compete as individuals rather than in a team).
