LAUNCH emerging producer program

Are you interested in event coordination and live music?
Ever wanted to organise your own gig?

This is an opportunity for you to be mentored through the steps to put on an awesome all ages event for your mates and the Darwin community. You’ll receive one-on-one training and have a budget to create something really special.

LAUNCH is looking for FIVE young (15-25 years) live music event coordinators who are keen to help us put on 5 outdoor gigs that show off amazing local music talent and celebrate our spectacular dry season Darwin. The 5 event coordinators will work with local producer Amy Hetherington to take their events from idea to reality.

Along with the five event producers we are also on the hunt for a sound tech and a decor artist. Please use the form below to express your interest in any of the available roles.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • You’ll get to put on an all-ages outdoor gig for the community to enjoy

  • Gigs will be held once a month from May to September

  • You’ll have a budget and access to equipment to put on your event

  • You’ll get one-on-one mentoring to make sure the event runs smoothly

  • Over the course of the program there will be five skills development workshops focusing on key event areas (plus a wrap up / evaluation at the end). The first workshop is in March.

  • You’ll gain skills, confidence and a super awesome project for your resume

  • Each of the five producers will take the lead on one of the events, supported by the rest of the team

  • The sound tech and decor artist will work across all five events

  • Our event equipment is only able to accommodate soloist, duos, trios or small scale musical acts but unfortunately not full bands with a drum kit etc (we can chat about this more you’re in the program)

  • You’ll receive a small fee to help cover any participation expenses

  • If you need it, you’ll have access to office space at City of Darwin to work from

  • Program participants need to be aged 15-25 and either live, work or study in Darwin
